Employment disclaimer

TranscriptionTrail is a job board, not an employer, recruiter or staffing agency. Here is what that means for you.

Last updated: September 2026

We are not an employer

TranscriptionTrail does not hire for any position listed on this site, does not screen candidates on any employer's behalf, and is not involved in any part of the hiring process. We never make hiring decisions, extend offers, or negotiate pay. Nothing on this site is an offer of employment.

Listings come from third parties

Listings are gathered from public company career pages and job feeds, or submitted through our own curation process, and are provided for information only. We do our best to keep them accurate and current, but we cannot guarantee that any listing is complete, still open, or that the pay, schedule or requirements described are exactly what the employer offers. The employer's own posting always takes priority.

Apply at your own discretion

When you apply for a role, you deal directly with the employer or its hiring platform. TranscriptionTrail is not a party to that relationship and is not responsible for the conduct, practices, working conditions, compensation or payment practices of any employer, contractor or client you may work with.

Independent contractor work is common

Many transcription and AI data-labeling roles are independent contractor positions, not traditional jobs. Contractors are typically responsible for their own equipment, software, taxes and benefits, and work volume is not always guaranteed. Read each company's contractor agreement carefully before you sign.

Watch for job scams

Remote job postings are a common target for fraud. A few rules that protect you:

  • Never pay to get a job. No legitimate employer charges application fees, training fees, or equipment fees, or asks you to cash a check and forward money.
  • Verify the company. Apply through the company's own careers page whenever possible — every listing we publish links to an external application.
  • Guard your details. Do not share your Social Security number, bank details, or copies of identity documents before you have a signed agreement.
  • Be skeptical of fast offers. Offers made without an interview, or pressure to decide immediately, are red flags.

If you spot a suspicious listing on our board, please report it on the contact page and we will remove it.

Equal opportunity

Employers are responsible for complying with all applicable employment laws, including equal-opportunity and non-discrimination requirements. We publish listings as we receive them and do not endorse or screen the hiring practices of any company.

No warranty

This site and its listings are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Use of the information on this site is at your own discretion. See also our terms of use.
